The Power of Forgiveness

Today I did something that I normally don’t do, I watched a movie. Went to the bedroom, me and the dogs, and turned on the tv and search for a Christian movie.  The first one that popped up was the “Forgiveness Girl”. If you know me, I am a horrible movie watcher, 5-10 minutes in and I am dozing off, well not this time. I was captivated from the start. So that being said, if you want a good wholesome movie, here you go. And it brought me to this blog….sparked a powerful but freeing ACTION……FORGIVENESS !

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things God calls us to do—but it is also one of the most freeing.

When we refuse to forgive, we often believe we’re holding someone else captive. In reality, we’re the ones carrying the weight. Bitterness steals our peace, anger robs our joy, and resentment keeps old wounds alive.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay, and it doesn’t always mean trust is immediately restored. It simply means you’re placing the hurt into God’s hands instead of carrying it yourself.
Jesus said:
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25 NKJV)
Choosing to forgive isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign that you trust God to be the righteous Judge.

Today, lay down the burden you’ve been carrying. The person who hurt you may never apologize, but your freedom doesn’t depend on their response. It depends on your willingness to let God heal your heart.
Forgiveness doesn’t change the past, but it can change your future.

Struggling to forgive? You don’t have to face it alone. I’d be honored to pray with you, encourage you, and help you walk through the journey toward healing and freedom in Christ.

I had to learn to let things go that I had no control over and couldn't change it
