A God Who Stays

People leave! This is just a sad reality.

Friends drift apart. Relationships fail. Promises are broken. In our darkest moments, it can feel as though everyone has walked away.

But there is One who never does.

No amount of shame can make God leave you. No mountain of guilt can drive Him away. No fear, failure, addiction, bad decision, or painful past can separate you from His love. Isn’t that the most amazing thing?

The enemy wants you to believe that you’ve gone too far, messed up too much, or failed one too many times. But God’s Word say differently.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come… shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 NKJV)

Think about Peter. He denied Jesus three times. Yet Jesus stayed.

Think about the woman caught in adultery. Everyone else wanted to condemn her. Yet Jesus stayed.

Think about the prodigal son. He squandered everything and found himself broken and ashamed. Yet the Father was still waiting with opened arms.

That’s who God is.

He is the God who stays when others walk away. He stays through the tears, through the doubts, through the failures, and through the seasons when you feel unworthy of His love.

His presence is not based on your perfection. It is based on His faithfulness. So if shame is whispering that God is done with you, don’t believe it. If fear is telling you to run, don’t listen. If guilt is reminding you of yesterday, remember that God’s mercy is new every morning. (Every morning we get a fresh start)

You may feel far from God, but He has never moved.
He is still calling. Still loving. Still forgiving.

Still staying.

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV)

What an incredible comfort to know that we serve a God who stays.
